Wanna play Honky?

Last night Jordan went up to Ronnie and asked him "Do you want to play Honky?" He looked at me and his eyebrows shot up just about to the top of his head. He was wondering how on Earth she learned that rascist term, and was highly offended that she was calling him a Honky. He asked her "What?" because he was sure that he misunderstood her. I was no help considering I had dissolved into hysterical laughter. LOL She then said... "You know where you hit the Honky with a stick." By this time, I was laughing so hard I thought I'd hurt myself. Then our 6 year old came to the rescue by explaining to us that she'd told Jordan that when she goes to the gym at school they'll play "Hockey". I'm still laughing a full 24 hours later. The look on Ronnie's face was priceless. Out of the mouths of babes!

My house is being overrun by spiders. We found another one last night, and my oh-so-helpful husband killed it, and then proceeded to chase me around with it on the end of the broom. He even touched me with the broom! (He's a big kid.) Then he went to clean off the broom with a paper towel, and couldn't find the spider. Of course this sent me into freak out mode because I'm sure my children will be eaten even if it's a spider that's 1/4 inch long. We finally found the spider on the floor. Where it had fallen out of my hair!!!! Apparently when he touched me with the broom, the spider fell out on me. He's lucky I didn't know until after the fact, because he'd be about as squashed as that spider if I would've.

Hugs!

A real date!

So much has been happening around here that I feel like I'm chasing myself around in circles! Ronnie and I had our first real date in over 4 years. His parents and sister took all 3 kids overnight. Ronnie and I drove to the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS. We ate at the buffet which was awesome, I got a few pictures, and we managed not to talk about the kids for up to ten minutes at a time. We had a great time. We didn't get back to the house until midnight... WAY past my bed time. LOL I'm getting old. Here is a photo of us. Ignore the construction tape in the corner, a lot of Biloxi is under new construction even two years after Katrina.

I taught my first class on Saturday at Scrappersaurus in Mandeville. I was a bit nervous at first, but I got into it pretty quickly. I probably talked too much. LOL The lady was really nice, and is interested in taking my next class this Saturday so I guess I didn't do too badly! Get this though... I have to pull a project together for consideration for teaching at ScrapFest in September. It's a big crop festival in Mandeville. Check it out here... scrapfestproductions.com. If I do a good enough job they may pick me up as a teacher for the festival, which would mean teaching a BUNCH of people. So wish me luck with that!!!!

Speaking of Scrappersaurus they are running a contest for an altered bra to enter the Melissa Frances contest at CHA Summer 2008. I finished my entry. Scrappersaurus will be picking the best one out of the local submissions to send to CHA. Wish me luck! Here are some pics. As always you can click for a more detailed view and description.

The kids have been doing well. It's so hot here all of the time that they want to stay inside a lot. Brandon is a whopping 30 lbs, and 34 inches tall at 16 months. Jordan told Ronnie the other night that something is wrong with her legs. It breaks my heart that she's starting to realize that she's different. Alexis is her usual wild and busy self. She has started putting on dance performances for us. It's too funny.

Gutter Girlz Prompt 2: Junkie

(You can click on the image to see it bigger!) This one has LOTS of stuff on it! I stamped the paper using the bottom of my coffee cup. If you look closely behind the word Java that's a coffee filter that I tore up, and inked and painted. The photos... the heart drawn in the coffee grounds was done by me. The poster was an awesome one I found with Google. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Google? My next LO might have to be about how I'm a Google junkie. LOL The photo says "Coffee! You can sleep when you're dead!"

My journaling says... I'm a java junkie. I need it! I gotta have it! I need a fix.

Not crooked IRL. Sorry for the wonkiness. This was for the Gutter Girlz Blog Challenge to scrap about being a Junkie, and use some sort of packaging from the thing you are addicted too. I chose the coffee filter, because I can't get any coffee without putting it in that. LOL

Go visit the Gutter Girlz Blog so you can play too! http://guttergirlz.blogspot.com/

On a different note... See this cute child right here?

She just told me that when they did the fire escape drill at school, (With a trailer that they filled with smoke to show the kids how to crawl under the smoke, and exit safely.) she told the firefighter volunteers that the smoke smelled like when her Momma makes pancakes. That little #&$^!!! She's lucky she's cute! In my defense... if you have 3 kids, it's kinda hard to focus on a pancake. I've got Jordan is hitting Brandon while he's walking back and forth on top of the couch, and Alexis is doing back flips off of the couch trying to break her neck. Is there any wonder my pancakes are burnt?

*Sigh*

Our "Professional" Picture

Ronnie and I have struggled for many moons to get a photo of all three children together in a "professional" setting without someone crying, whining, or getting up and just walking away. We still haven't succeeded, but you can laugh at our latest attempt, or just feel sad while looking at the lone tear creeping down Bubba's cheek. Seriously, how dare we demand he sit still for the 15 seconds it takes to take a photo!!! (Forgive the big white line down the side, my new scanner comes tomorrow, and I can't wait to break up with my old one for the new guy! LOL)

I got some scrapping done too! It's a miracle. I lifted Kelly Goree. The picture on this layout is the best one I've ever managed to get of all three of them. EVER. The journaling is especially important to me on this one. Click the link to see it bigger, and read all about it.

Here's a digital one I made using a tutorial by Amanda (TaylorMade Designs).

Thanks for stopping by and reading my madness!
