Sketch/Template #31 Freebie

Hello everyone! I have another sketch and digital template to share. Please feel free to pin it, or save it to your computer for later use. If you are a digital scrapbooker, please scroll down for your template freebie.

This is my take on the sketch. Brandon really loved going to the playground with me when he was little. We would spend hours at the park as evidenced by his very red, sweaty face in these photos. Gotta love living in Louisiana! I used my Scraptastic Club Chasing Pavements kit and add on to make this layout.

As usual, my design team made some amazing examples. I love my MMD Divas so much. They do a great job showing that you can use the sketch in many different ways.

Alison says: This is the first time my kids ever got to swim in a real lake! Every year, my husbands' side of the family goes camping, and this year the location had a lake that was swimmer friendly. I wanted to use papers that mimicked the movement of water, so I chose to use Jillibean Soup's Winter Tortellini and Spinach Soup papers from the 6x6 pad. Yes, they are supposed to be wintery and Christmasy, but I thought they worked perfectly for a summery layout. The blue card stock was run through my cuttlebug for a little extra oomph, the pink card stock circle was stamped a few times to incorporate more of the natural elements into my design. I inked it with Old Olive ink (from Stampin' Up).

The giant flower and vacation sentiment are both K&Co. Using a scrap piece of orange card stock that had been previously stamped on, I stamped the word summer, then cut each letter out for the block lettering portion of my title.

April Walker

April says: As soon as I saw Heather's sketch this week I was totally inspired! I had these 3 Instagram pics of my hubby and I on New Year's Eve that worked perfectly for it, and all of the layers inspired me to mix in some different colors with my patterned papers. I even did some stamping in the background to add another layer which turned out great! I really love how it all came together.

Lesley Walker

Lesley says: For my take on this sketch I had the perfect pics I wanted to use and lucky enough to have the perfect paper in my stash.  The Webster's paper line with the cherries on it had been sitting there waiting to be used for ages and all of a sudden I have 'cherry picking' pics so good start to the page.  I used my Cricut to cut the title and arrows, and my MS circle punch for the red circle.  For the hexagons I used my Crafters Workshop Template which has hexagons of all sizes on it so was able to do the small one with the '3' (little grandchildren picking fruit), and the larger ones for the journal notes.  All papers used were from the same Webster's paper line.

Marlene Murphy

Marlene says: These pictures were taken during one of our traditional holiday outings.  Sault Ste. Marie has an excellent tubing hill (tow rope included) and our family takes advantage the day after Christmas.  They have done this since the youngest; Matty (center photo) was so small she had to ride in one of her cousin's laps.  Anna, right photo's, fiancĂ© took the pictures with his cell phone.  I think they turned out very well; unfortunately I could not use all of them.  I was not there; I was home getting ready for the Boxing Day prime rib dinner, another of our traditions.  These are the things I love about the holidays.  This layout is mostly cardstock, ink and stamps.  I loved the openness of the sketch.

Mitra Pratt made not one, but TWO pages. This is her first page.

And her second page.

Mitra says: In a fit of crazy, I convinced my kids to take a quick photo outside during our bitter cold spell last weekend. That might be why they appear to be wincing…needed photos to send with my Valentine’s Day cards though! Thought I would use them on a page because I really liked the colors in the photos! I've made two pages using this sketch, both of them with Valentine's Day in mind. It was great to use up some stash and also send a page over to my next door neighbor who had the cutest Facebook profile photo from her recent visit with her granddaughter. I ended up making two as I wanted my own page with Heather’s great sketch!

Shannon Miller

Shannon says: As soon as I saw the circles and the arrows on the sketch, I knew I would be creating an amusement park lo! I sewed circles and punched circles and just kept layering everything. I totally loved the sketch! It was so much fun.

Sharon Fritchman

Sharon says: I used my January, 2013 Scraptastic kit entitled "Chasing Pavements" as the basis for my layout, featuring pictures of Anne and the basket she won as a raffle prize after her first school dance. I can't believe that she has grown up so quickly!!!!!

*Last but not least, please join me in welcoming my newest design team members… Sandi Pressley and Holly King!

Sandi Pressley

Sandi says: I don’t often scrap pictures of myself, let alone a picture of just me but I wanted to document some of my current favorites.  Thinking about it, I think it is very important to include myself in my scrapbooks so my children, grandchildren and others in the family can know me a little better. I loved working with this many great little details to add.  I am thrilled to be included in this design team of fabulously talented ladies and an excited to work with Heather’s sketches.

Holly King

Holly says: (Coming soon!)

I also have a digital example that I made with the freebie template.

I really love this set of photos so much! When I saw the "cozy" title in the Clementine kit from Tickled Pink Studio, I knew it would be perfect to scrap them.

My two youngest children are really close. Even though there's a three year age difference, I get asked all of the time if they are twins. I think it's awesome that they love each other this much.

If you’re a digital scrapbooker and you’d like to download the layered digital template freebie that I created in Adobe Photoshop Elements, you can download it by clicking the link above. (Please respect my TOU.)

Thank You copy

I love seeing what everybody makes with your sketches. This one is especially interesting because the three blocks were interpreted fairly evenly as one, two and three pictures.
